Former India captain and one of the modern greats, Rohit Sharma, celebrated his 39th birthday on April 30, with wishes pouring in from across the cricketing world.
Since making his debut in 2007, Rohit has redefined batting across formats, building a legacy marked by consistency, elegance, and record-breaking feats that continue to inspire the next generation.

Having stepped away from Tests and T20Is, the ‘Hitman’ now continues to dominate in ODIs, where he remains one of the most prolific openers in the game. In 282 matches, Rohit has amassed 11,577 runs at an average close to 49, including 33 centuries and 61 fifties.
He also holds the record for the highest individual ODI score, a staggering 264, and is the only player to have scored three double centuries in the format.
In Tests, Rohit featured in 67 matches, scoring 4,301 runs, including 12 centuries, while his T20I career saw him finish as one of the format’s all-time greats with 4,231 runs and a record-equalling five centuries.
His leadership journey has been equally remarkable. Rohit guided India to the finals of the World Test Championship and ODI World Cup in 2023 before ending the country’s ICC title drought by lifting the T20 World Cup in 2024. He followed it up with another major triumph in the Champions Trophy in 2025.
As the ‘Hitman’ continues into the twilight phase of his career, his impact on the game remains unmatched.
